Vanessa Slater is a young singer from Sligo Town and has participated in many school performances as well as private ones. She was joint Connacht winner of Teen Idol and represented the province in Dublin. Vanessa has participated in the Musicool project and has co-written a song with her group.

She has worked under the direction of local based promoter and Musicool mentor John Kenny, along with Mickey Harte (singer/songwriter), Brian Ormond (RTE) and Francie Conway (Ballyfermot Rock School).

In 2010, Vanessa recorded a demo of 'Kiss Me', which was originally released by 'Sixpence None the Richer' and a demo of 'Both Sides Now,' a Joni Mitchell 1960's classic.
