Mayo one-day music festival is back to Lough Conn shores

Acid folk, ambient electronic sounds, post-punk and Kurdish bouzouki playing will be just some of the music to greet festival-goers to The Conncert, which returns to lakeside Cloghans, Ballina, Co. Mayo this weekend. The not-for-profit music festival is run by volunteers and ticket sale proceeds go to the artists who perform at the event, as well as to backstage crew and costs associated with organising the festival.

Cork rock band The Altered Hours have toured major European cities this year, supporting Just Mustard. They are among the eight diverse acts appearing at The Conncert in Mayo this weekend

This is the third year of the one-day music gathering, which is operated along the co-operative model. The last two years of The Conncert brought 16 quality sets to the shores of heavenly Lough Conn.

The prestigious 2026 roster includes The Altered Hours, Katie Kim, Mohammad Syfkhan, Moundabout, Caoilian Sherlock, Katie Gerardine O’Neill, Wild Rocket and Allie of Ferns

While the venue at The Lodge Pub in Cloghans does have parking, patrons are being asked to travel to the festival by taking the special bus which will operate from Ballina, which is 10 kilometres away, costing €10. Cycling or even car-pooling is also recommended to get there.

There is camping space available, and camper vans can be accommodated close by. A food vendor will be on site, catering for all needs.

The organisers have thanked Mayo County Council and their partners at TheNCF Cultural Co-op for supporting the event.

The Conncert will be held on Saturday, August 15, from 3pm to 1am. Visit the social media pages of The Conncert for further information.
