The mighty Quinn strikes again

When Fineinn Quinn recorded his classy debut single Objekt of My Affection at David Dwane Recording Studio, Ballina in 2017, little did he know that this song would elevate him to greater things in the music business.

The young Foxford man is passionate about music, and it is all he has thought about since his mother first sent him to fiddle lessons as a boy.

Objekt of My Affection was an original song that displayed his multi-instrumental talents, playing guitar, piano, fiddle and bodhran on that track.

Fineinn regards winning the All-Ireland Fleadh Ceoil bodhran competition in 2013 as his most prestigious accolade to date.

More recently, he has played as a solo artist at numerous festivals and events such as Live On Air Festival in Enniscrone, Claremorris Folk Festival and performed at Bridge of Song in Castlebar in July of last year.
About the recording of his debit single three years ago, Fineinn said: “It was a learning curve for me and helped me to get a grasp and greater knowledge of the music industry, along with assisting me on how to develop a strategy for future releases.”

While the popular musician still has plenty of his own music up his sleeves, it is his cover of Kodaline’s Wherever You Are – due out on Friday next, 20th November 2020 – that will bring his unique voice to an even wider audience.

“In terms of genre, I try not to define myself too much, as I believe creativity should have no borders and the mind should have no filter, music-wise. But in saying that, I do see myself as a folk/alternative/indie/pop artist. Take your pick!”
Fineinn’s plan will see him release a handful of cover songs to offer a flavour of his music to a wider fan base and then release a second original single in the second quarter of 2021.

“I have built my fan base from playing pub gigs around Mayo and from uploading regular covers online via YouTube and Facebook, but mainly Instagram,” he said.

Fineinn’s music – including his forthcoming release of Wherever You Are – is available on all streaming sites, including Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music.
