Growing popularity for Gerry Guthrie

Ballina’s Gerry Guthrie is one of the busiest artists on the Irish country music scene.

Gerry has been performing with his own band for over ten years and his most recent 11-track studio album This Ain’t My First Rodeo earned impressive sales and considerable airplay for him earlier this year.

The  hard-working singer and guitar player performs regularly in all corners of Ireland and abroad, with a sizeable fanbase in the UK contributing to his growing popularity as an entertainer.

Ballina people will have seen the affable artist perform a homecoming show in the town centre during Mayo Day 2023 on 29th April. Then, in mid-May, he and fellow Ballina singer Stuart Moyles were among those topping the bill at a festival in The Algarve in Portugal that also featured veteran Irish acts such as Brendan Shine, Sandy Kelly, TR Dallas and Mick Foster.

Gerry is also lined up for a number of country music festivals this summer, including A Midsummers Weekend with the Stars at Roscommon Racecourse on the weekend of 17th and 18th June and the South Galway Bay Music Festival on the last weekend of July alongside other country music stars such as Mike Denver, Derek Ryan and The Tumbling Paddies.
