Sligo musician Brídín plays Ballina concert

West Sligo musician Brídín takes to the stage of Ballina Arts Centre later this week.

The contemporary folk artist is carrying on the tradition of Irish music into the fourth generation of her family.

She is the granddaughter of the late Gerry Donagher, an illustrious traditional Irish musician from Easkey, who died last month.

Over the years, Brídín – real name Bríd McGowan has achieved many accolades for her musical ability, with recent prime time TV performances on The Late Late Show and The Tommy Tiernan Show.

Her love of music led her to pursue a musical career, having studied at UCC and later achieving a masters in music and performance.

Brídín will be performing with a full band and will be supported on the night by Ballina singer and musician Ciara O’Donnell, formerly of the band Billow Wood and now working under the stage name Dowhan.

The concert is on Friday, 17th November and you can buy tickets at https://ballinaartscentre.ticketsolve.com/…/873652434
