Mayo teenagers will perform at Ballina event

Singer Sean Keane will headline a unique night of music, song and dance in Ballina Arts Centre on Friday, April 12th that brings together dozens of performers from across various platforms.

Mayo Teenage Trad Ensemble

Seán will join forces with The Mayo Teenage Trad Ensemble and the show also will feature guest performances from the Bailey Scariff Academy of Dance and Mayo Childrens’ Chorus.

The renowned Galway folk and ballad singer will be joined by a full band to perform his repertoire of best-known recordings. Over the years he has had hits with songs such as ‘Isle of Hope – Isle of Tears’, ‘Faraway in Australia’, his distinctive version of The Beatles’ classic ‘Blackbird’, and Bob Dylan’s ‘Make You Feel my Love’.

The Mayo Teenage Trad Ensemble, under the direction of Stephen Doherty, features over 30 award-winning teenage boys and girls who are of the highest standard in the country. The young members thrilled audiences in Ballina last year during the Connacht Fleadh. They will play some of their arranged material on the night. The youngsters will also accompany Seán for a few of his hit songs, and join with The Bailey Scariff Academy of Dance in a special collaboration.

This Ballina concert will be a unique opportunity to see the talented youth of our region perform with one of Ireland’s best known singers.

Tickets for the show, which starts at 8pm, are €22 and can be booked online at www.ballinaartscentre.com. You can also call 096-73593 or email info@ballinaartscentre.com.
