The totally real Enniscrone Black Pig Festival will play host to The Totally Made Up Orchestra on this coming Saturday.

The phenomenon that is The Totally Made Up Orchestra is a community music-making project under the direction of the inspirational Sid Peacock.
Musicians and music lovers of any age, any instrument and any ability are invited to become part of the beautiful, monster music machine.
Guided by the inspirational Sid, you will devise, create and perform a completely new work from scratch over the course of just a few hours, for a public performance that same day!.
And it doesn’t matter if you have been playing for years or minutes, or if you are 8 or 80. If you can read music, that’s great. But, if you don’t read music, that’s even better! All you need to become part of this amazing ensemble is a desire to be heard, a desire to play with other people, an open mind and a big, creative heart.
Sid Peacock has been described as one of the most exciting composers in that difficult-to-define area between jazz, contemporary music and improv. As a firm believer in the power of music to transform lives, Sid works regularly as a producer and educator with organisations such as Youth Music and mac Birmingham in Britain, and Moving on Music in Belfast.
The event starts with a three-hour workshop on Saturday morning (July 26), from 10am, followed by a short, public performance at 2pm.
And it all happens in the West Sligo Family Resource Centre on Pier Road, Enniscrone.
Anyone who has previously taken part in The Totally Made Up Orchestra has found it a joyous, uplifting and unforgettable experience.
Participants must bring their own instruments, where necessary, including amps, etc for electronic instruments.
This event is produced by Ronan Quinn in partnership with Enniscrone Black Pig Festival, and funded by the Creative Ireland Programme (Sligo) 2023-2027.
Super fun and wild adventurous music is guaranteed during this festival novelty.
